When should I arrive at the station before travelling between London and the Netherlands?
Travelling from London to the Netherlands: Direct Eurostar journey Get to Amsterdam Centraal at our recommended arrival time to allow plenty of time to go through passport control and security. Please arrive at Amsterdam Centraal at least 20 minutes before your Thalys train departs and head to platform 15a. Find your Thalys train and departure time on the station screens – the destination shown might not be Brussels-Midi as most Thalys trains continue on to Paris. If you’re travelling to the Netherlands with a change in Brussels, you’ll connect with a Thalys train at Brussels-Midi station. There are no passport or luggage checks before you board a Thalys train, but please ensure that you board the train at least 2 minutes before departure.
Travelling from Amsterdam to London
You’ll first need to scan your ticket at the NS ticket gates to enter the station, then head to the Eurostar departures building at the far end of platform 15b where you’ll go through ticket, passport, and luggage checks. Checks close 30 minutes before departure (20 minutes for Business Premier ticket holders).

In Brussels-Midi, make your way directly to the Eurostar departures as you’ll need to go through ticket, luggage, and passport checks. Eurostar departures are located under platforms 1 and 2. Follow the signs for the Channel Terminal if you’re unfamiliar with the station layout. Ticket gates close 30 minutes before departure (15 minutes before for Business Premier ticket holders).
